Este documento-síntese é baseado no Estudo sobre a cadeia de alimentos, realizado pelo Professor Walter Belik em parceria com o Instituto de Manejo e Certificação Florestal e Agrícola (Imaflora), com o apoio do Instituto Ibirapitanga e do Instituto Clima e Sociedade. O estudo aponta para questões centrais do sistema alimentar brasileiro, trazendo alguns dados e tendências, como o consumo de alimentos nos diferentes contextos socioeconômicos e regionais, padrões da dieta e produção e consumo de alimentos por região.
