O documento “Agendas municipais de agricultura urbana e periurbana: um guia para inserir a agricultura nos processos de planejamento urbano” buscou responder a uma demanda de municípios brasileiros por uma orientação conceitual e metodológica. Mais do que sistematizar os acúmulos da literatura no assunto e de interagir com as práticas presentes em diferentes cidades brasileiras, a mensagem central do Guia é a de destacar o potencial da agricultura urbana e periurbana (AUP) no enfrentamento de diversos desafios urbanos. No entendimento apresentado neste documento, seus benefícios ao longo do tempo seriam atingidos desde que a AUP seja tratada enquanto uma agenda estratégica, calcada em um processo de desenvolvimento gradual de institucionalização, em paralelo, ao trabalho de fortalecer e multiplicar a agricultura através de iniciativas e programas.

Este trabalho foi conduzido pelo Centro de Estudos em Sustentabilidade da FGV (FGVces), o TEEB Agricultura e Alimentos/PNUMA e a Coordenação-Geral de Apoio à AUP, vinculada ao Ministério da Cidadania.
